Hello All
STOP PRESS - TUESDAY
One of the members of the British Ice yacht
team, ice sailor Chris Williams is in Sweden.
Chris travelled over 1,200 miles to find some ice. At present he is about
100 miles west of Ostersund on the E14 at a village called Ann. The village
is next to a lake called Annsun. It's some 500 metres above sea level and
first reports are that it has 7 inches of ice. Chris hopes do do some ice
sailing today (Tuesday).
On the journey to Ann Chris was held up twice by some of Santa's reindeer
as they ambled across the road, totally ignoring the traffic. Let's hope
Chris does not come across an elk. They are 3/4 of a ton of dumb animal
that will stride out across a road whether there is traffic or not. Early
morning and dusk are the most dangerous as they make their way to new
pastures.
Hope to bring you a further report Weds night UK time.
